Tennis steps

What is 'tennis steps'?

‘Tennis steps’ is the best way to improve your coaching. You can choose between hundreds of drills, so you will never run out of ideas on the court. There are drills for technique, tactics, warm up and physical workout. Each drill gives you an idea of what you can do on the court but you could of course adjust the drill depending on your needs (the number of players, the physical load you want to achieve, etc).

Apart from the drills, tennis steps offers you daily, weekly and monthly plans together with detailed lessons and therefore you can always be prepared for your work as a tennis coach.

Tennis steps provides you with all the tools you need in order to be prepared and always be effective on the court.

What kind of drills are there?

There are drills about technique, tactics, warm up, physical workout as well as some fun drills. These are divided to drills for correction, so that you as a coach improve your players’ game, drills for cooperation, so that the players try to rally and achieve the drill’s goal (working together) and finally drills for competition where the players work as opponents.

Do the drills have difficulty levels?

All drills are rated according to their level. There are 3 levels of difficulty (easy-intermediate-difficult) which are marked with colour (green – orange – red) together with the drill’s title. However, it is up to you to increase or decrease difficulty, depending on your needs. You don’t have to be a beginner to do an easy drill. Advanced players could perform them as well if done correctly, just raise intensity, repetitions or the speed or place of your feeding.

How do I know if I execute the drill correctly?

The drill is designed on the court with coloured lines and specific instructions. However there are also some tips or advice that will guide you through the drill and give you more knowledge about the goals you should achieve. The drill is just a sample of what you can do on the court. You can set the number of players, repetitions, intensity of the drill or any other factor you need. Also, don’t forget to work both sides, forehand and backhand!
